Our sweet baby boy is stable and out of surgery. This nightmare is over with. These wonderful people in Boston fixed our son. He’s going to make a full recovery. Praise God.
I’m asking everyone that this tweet comes across to please just take a second and say a prayer for our son Christian. He’s 9 months and currently in the hospital after he woke up in his blood. He’s Covid positive.
Bucs running back Giovani Bernard didn’t want to talk to the media about what happened on the botched fake punt. Here’s that interaction.
Note: As reporters, it is our job to seek clarity on what happened, especially on the most pivotal play of a game.
Little man was discharged from the hospital. We couldn’t let him miss out on a visit to the aquarium while we were up here. We’re so fortunate we are able to have some fun after everything he’s been through. Heading home tomorrow after his follow up with his amazing surgeon.
We are back at the hospital after Christian had more significant bleeding this morning. We’re frustrated but more so just exhausted seeing our son suffer. We’re asking for prayers for the doctors as they work to find a diagnosis & strength for Christian as he battles.
Christian is currently undergoing another transfusion. His hemoglobin dropped too much overnight. He needs his count back up in order to be stable enough for scans today. We’re asking for prayers that the blood takes to him safely & for a diagnosis today.
Christian’s hemoglobin responded well to the transfusion. Unfortunately none of the tests ran today gave us a diagnosis of his bleeding. He has a procedure set for 7am tomorrow to explore from the inside. This is so much on our little man. Pray for supernatural strength for him.
Still confuses me why I was traded. I think I was top 5 in both PR & KR. Never did KR in college, didn’t have any pre season that year so I had to learn on the fly. Finished top 3. I asked all season why I wasn’t getting any offensive snaps. Never got any answers.
We landed in Boston this afternoon. Christian is stable so we’ve able to use today to travel, get settled, & SLEEP tonight as we prepare for whatever this weekend/week brings. Philippians 4:6 🙏
Some wonderful, wonderful news. Christian’s 3 week post op blood results from Monday came back today & his counts are phenomenal! Hemoglobin is perfect as well as many other markers that were low while he was dealing with his blood loss. Praise praise God. This is such a relief!
On the contrary. I was a Parade All-American in high school. A 2 time All-American in college. A 2 time First team All-ACC performer. Please don’t disrespect my work like that with click bait jokes. It’s not funny. I work at my craft daily & do my best to help this team win.
Tears of joy this morning as
@GabieSwitzer
and I celebrate 1 year of life for Christian. We cherish every single day with you baby boy. Thank you God for affording us the opportunity to be parents to this fighter. Happy Birthday!
Mr. man was discharged from the hospital yesterday evening. We didn’t get any clear answers on why what happened, happened but, to see him sleep through the night with no bleeding and wake up in a playful mood this morning means our prayers are being answered. Thank you all. 💙🙏
After Christian’s scan this morning, they’re admitting us to the hospital and prepping him for surgery. The surgeon on our case assured us they found what they’re looking for in order to operate.
We’re heartbroken this has happened to our baby boy, but we’re also overwhelmed by the amount of people who have reached out in support of Christian. This has been the toughest day of Gabie and I’s life. Please continue to pray Christian stabilizes and makes it through surgery.
The doctors are still trying to find the source of the bleeding. He’s been getting fluids and medicine as he waits for a CT scan. They’ve made us aware that he needs a blood transfusion. Praying that he avoids surgery. Only 1 parent is allowed in the room so my wife is with him.
Christian is finally out of surgery. The GI specialist found several sites of bleeding. He took samples that were sent off to biopsy to see what could be causing it, I guess. He’s stable right now and resting.
Christian stayed stable throughout the night, & another CT confirmed the source & need for surgery this morning. Mom & him are exhausted but your prayers have kept ALL of us, esp. Christian going. May God have his hands on the surgeons and be with Christian as he’s sleeping.
Christian is being moved from the ICU to the floor today! There were no more bleeding spells over night and all of his labs remained normal. We’re still waiting on his tissue biopsies from surgery but, we’re thankful his health and his mood are slowly improving.
Pittsburgh’s had such a positive effect on my wife and I we named our new pup after one of this City’s nicknames. Seriously, we love it here. You all are awesome.
Bro I swear I hate how good some of these kids are at fortnite. Like put me in a lobby with people who don’t spend 20/24 hours a day playing this game.
As long as Christian remains stable we are heading to Boston tomorrow afternoon. The doctors have a plan in place for different tests to run in hopes of finding the source. The good news is Christian does not need to be actively bleeding in order for these tests to find the site.
2 months post op. 2 months of priceless family time. 2 months of rehabbing & learning to walk again. 2 months of heartache missing the game I know & love. Like my father did for me, I plan to show my son what a relentless pursuit of a goal looks like. I still believe.
I’ll be honest. Roy riding off into the sunset last minute without telling the entire world was such an unselfish, OG move. But deep down I wish he let us know. He deserved his send off too.
Give me 65-75% of offensive snaps. Or in other words, what the top slots in the league average per season, before you throw any judgment on my game. People silly to think I don’t have it in me to be a star simply based off 25% of O snaps.
Heavenly Father I pray in your all powerful and healing name that you would watch over Donald Parham in this very moment. Comfort his loved ones and surround them with a peace that transcends all understanding. Amen.
So
@Juiceup__3
looked over at me on the sideline last night and said, “is this a home game or an away game?” I told him to get used to it, because
#SteelerNation
goes everywhere we go! Just thought I’d share that on this beautiful Monday!
I get it man. You’re upset with how last season went for me. Me too. I worked my butt off for 8 months only to see that hard work not come to fruition. But the only way last season becomes a failure for me is if I don’t learn from it & improve. Which I’m looking forward to doing.
We have been in contact with UPMC and Boston children’s about Christian’s case. The medical professionals have decided Boston is the place we need to be transferred to continue the search and cause for Christian’s bleeding.
Christian had tests done yesterday up here in Boston. The Doctors’ agree they see an abnormality on Christian’s scan. He has one more scheduled for Monday before they decide how to proceed moving forward. We’ve been told the fix will be surgical.
One of the scans finally found the source of the bleeding and the surgeons are confident they can fix his issue. Because Christian is stable right now, they’re scheduling surgery for the morning.
We’re grateful they’ve located what’s been a mystery for far too long now. We’re praying God guides the surgeons as they operate and that this is the last time our sweet boy has to go through anything of this magnitude ever again.
I love seeing guys in my draft class enjoy the fruits of their labor at the pro bowl. But man, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t upset at myself right now that I haven’t done enough in my 2 years in the league to get there. Lots more work to be done.
I’m honestly just happy that my parents taught me how to communicate and disagree with others without lashing out, insulting them, or being cruel. Which apparently a lot of you all don’t understand.
Christian’s scan yesterday and procedure this morning did not bring any diagnosis for his bleeding. We’re looking into a transfer to another facility at the moment.
Christian has went through 3 transfusions as his hemoglobin levels were very low. They’re finally up enough where he can get his CT. Waiting on the results as they moved him and Gabie into the NICU. Prayers..
This was certainly not the way I envisioned this year playing out for me. But, adversity and hardship are necessary to get where we want to be in life. I’m grateful for what God has blessed me with in the midst of this storm and am looking forward to next year!
Christian is still having episodes of bleeding. It’s going to be a long day or so until the results of the tissue come back. Please pray for our baby. And please add my wife to the prayer list as she has to be strong for the both of us at the hospital.
Happy Monday peeps. Beautiful week ahead. My wife and I’s first Thanksgiving as a married couple. Pup’s first turkey day. Adding our Christmas tree to the house later in the week. Cool stuff.
I am encouraged by the confidence and clarity in the voice of the Doctor we spoke with in Boston about the potential solution to Christian’s issue. We remain grateful and appreciative of everyone who’s given our family strength during this time. No prayer has gone unheard.
So news from me today. Ankle procedure went great this morning. Tough last couple of years for me dealing with injuries and setbacks. But in this moment feeling grateful for my wife for her support and the Doctors who have operated on me successfully. 🙏
After a long couple months of construction, picking finishes, appointments, and craziness. Wifey and I are closing on our first home together. Can we officially call ourselves yinz’s now? So blessed.
Hoping everyone’s Friday is blessed and that you have an incredible weekend. I’m thankful to be back up in Cleveland for a week shifting some of my focus back to this upcoming season. Grateful! God Bless! 🙏
