An “exposure” tournament or showcase or whatever that charges teams and families to participate and then charges coaches and umpires to eat and maybe have some water is not in it for student-athletes, they are in it for money.

While tournaments take 100s of teams and make who knows how much, maybe don’t be surprised when the umpire working 8 games a day misses a call here or there. There aren’t even enough college level umpires to work college games, let alone the 17 tournaments going on in your state.

No better easy learning experience than stat cast on Sunday night baseball. If you aren’t using some kind of data to improve your game or your team, it’s just silly.
