Ok having attempted to figure out what this whole thing was about it seems to me that this is the correct takeaway. Of course Lewis would have been on the conservative side in the actual debates over sexuality. But:

@suzania Dangers, perhaps. But it is also dangerous, equally if not more so, to get into the idea that culture wars aren't important.

Of course this is not the only way these culture wars can serve our plans— disgusted with them, a patient may abandon the actual ethical positions, primarily about sexuality, over which they are fought, or become indifferent to corruption in the church,
