This is evil.
The 3rd Reich gave us a collective immunity to this kind of thing that lasted for 80 years but it has apparently worn off. Because we can’t count on moral instincts any more we will now have to make arguments.
@suzania
That sort of thing is really depressing. I’m autistic. My life is worth it. Will it one day be at risk if I get too sad or lonely and that’s no one to help, but people to “help” me with suicide? These are real questions for disabled or mentally ill people.
@JuliadoAlface
Julia, if ANYONE ever says ANYTHING to you even SUGGESTING this, just tell me and I will mess them up.
I will always be on call, unless X explodes, to explain to you and anyone else that your life and mind are beautifully worthwhile & that you do not have permission to go AWOL.
@suzania
Horrible. But reminds me of Houellebecq’s terrifying point that a lot of eugenics is only taboo because of the Nazis, otherwise it would have spread. So as with antisemitism one more thing where forgetting the Holocaust / people who remember passing has terrible consequences.
@suzania
@SohrabAhmari
The Third Reich learned from the US, UK and other part of Europe. Eugenics was considered leading science and supported by majorities in some nations. Much of modern economics is eugenics. Forced sterilization in US. Why are we pretending to be alarmed? Embrace the evil.
@suzania
Awful stuff. & I bet that if we were to dig a bit, we'd discover that the push for this comes not from hardcore believers in eugenics, but from beancounters seeking to shave off a portion of those who may not deliver a positive tax revenue stream for the majority of their lives.
