Three versions of this post have been sitting in my drafts for several months but I couldn't bring myself to post it. You all probably knew but it's time. Peace out, #nanowrimo

Q: Are you writing in November? What alternatives do you recommend? A: No, and I'm not endorsing any challenge. To be honest I've struggled with fiction for awhile and writing as a whole, even though writing is also my day job. Go write.

Q: Can you put me in touch with anyone involved with this whole thing? A: No.

Q: Why isn't XYZ event included? A: This doc's scope is to cover the major events that happened between the community and NaNo staff that led to a large erosion of trust and, in my opinion, NaNo HQ's downfall. I've left out previous and minor events since the doc is too long.

Q: Why was it anonymous? A: At the time it seemed like the best way. I didn't want my name and presence in the NaNo community, for better or worse, to interfere with people's interpretation of events.

Breaking my hiatus for this: Since people are coming back and realizing NaNoWriMo is gone and there are 238394 alternatives of varying quality, it's time for a confession. I wrote the NaNo scandal doc that has found its way around the internet for the past couple of years.

Okay now I'm going back to Bsky, just wanted to try and get that on the stream of my local regional
