Not making Varsity was another low point for @AedenOwens2024. He was in recovery, but he really wanted it, as much as any 17 yo kid had ever wanted anything.luckily, his pitching coach got him in an exhibition game. Here's his first AB since breaking his leg, 7 mos. earlier: 🥲❤️

When you're down at a deep low you basically have two choices: stay there or get up. @AedenOwens2024 chose to get up. After 2 mos in a full cast, suffering significant atrophy and stiffness, '16' got his half cast and could begin bending his knee again, the start of a return⚾❤️

It was unreal. @AedenOwens2024, who started walking at 8 ½ mos, who caught baseballs as high as I could throw them since he was five; who finally made it onto a club and team that valued him as a player? Season done. He wore the disappointment graciously but I know it hit hard.

FF to July, at peak confidence and ability, a collision in LC ended all progress for @AedenOwens2024. A day after saving the day with a dash across home plate, he now had a broken tibia and fibula. Summer 2022 with @AdidasAsBSB 16U Navy, who won and lost well together--was done.

2022, @AedenOwens2024 earned a spot on @AdidasAsBSB 16U Navy team--and they went on a tear! The coaching was stellar, the boys played well together, and given the chance? AO proved he could contribute.
