Gun Trails v1.2 adds a new novice mode, improved load times & bug fixes. This is close to my original vision for the game, so I'm satisfied with this being the last major patch.

I made it bc shmups are one of the places in life I can feel a calm flow state not riddled with anxiety, and I wanted to share that. cool we got nom'd, unfortunate we werent selected (esp. tech), but its not why I make games.

I have strong opinions on shmup design & programming, but I try to approach everything respectfully. I don't know why this rubbed someone the wrong way to the extent they needed to make burners to shit on me on reviews, but its just disheartening.

my experience with nihongo picnic was great
the courses are really well organized (much more so than university courses in my experience) and the teachers are kind and patient
worth checking out if learning Japanese

not saying you need to be jaimers, but when devs are not playing regularly enough, we end up with tons of half-baked "innovations" that are really just mistakes born from a lack of understanding of the fundamentals that players value
eg: vertizontal, ship inertia etc etc
It feels like a lot of beat em up devs suffer from the same problem as euroshmup devs - they don't play the damn games enough. Pls devs I beg you, 1cc some arcade bmups/harder modes in console bmups, youll get more out of it than any game design article/vid you can find online
lord I hate our industry some days, there is just so much posturing and ignorance for no good reason.
to clarify for my PL friends, nearly _every_ final frame production renderer, is currently CPU based.
