Can’t wait for #siggraph to start!

Somebody walks in and tells you that you are riding a rocket. Are you going to believe him?. I mean, if you're on the rocket, you'll feel it. If you're not, can someone potentially convince you? . It seems like it's just a waste of breath.

Staring at code for long periods is much less interesting than engaging with others' creative works: well-crafted music, movies, and 3D worlds. Being part of that creative process is what keeps you motivated when you do boring stuff.

I'm going to be at #siggraph August 10-12. I'd love to meet people related to graphics to exchange knowledge. Ping me if you want to meet!.

Have you ever seen Google responding you with "we're performing maintenance is undergoing" instead of returning top 10 relevant pages in 30-300ms? How often do you see it in chatgpt or claude?. Huge respect to the engineers behind that stable service!.

You can't do the same with ChatGPT I belive, now it maintains some kind of global context for all the chats.

I switched from Cursor back to copy-pasting into Claude. Personally, it's way easier to maintain good results when I keep track of what is in the LLM's context. Cursor is still good for the Tab fast completion, unless it's not code but plain text.

This is my ego talking. But there's still something wrong about it. The AI job market is SO HOT right now that my company will invite you for dinner with engies if you are a remotely good ML candidate. You don't have to know how dropout works during inference or what layernorm is.

You are a grown man, they say. You can resist temptations, they say. Nope!

Deciding is the most difficult thing. To make a decision means to stick to it. Every decision comes with time and resource commitment. Some commitments are hard to measure. Uncertainty blocks other decisions. These are some jet lag thoughts.

The second time in Japan, the second time I come to an electronics store determined to buy a Nintendo Switch, the second time I give it up.

A year ago, I saw an idea: writing down one highlight of the day, and I've practiced that since. It was to identify what was best during the week, month, etc. In reality, it's just a starter for writing everyday, helps maintain order, provides good practice in recalling yesterday.

I keep hearing people in the US say "I'm not very good at military time" when they encounter something like 17:30. But it's not military time; it's just 24-hour format. "Seventeen hundred thirty" is military time, and it's ridiculous. :).

For validation loss to go down like this, it took 17 days on a 4xL40S machine. Believe it or not, it's my highest GPU hours training overall. Still not perfect though
