Autumn and winter is the time to prune and pollard trees to keep them healthy. Sadly this autumn we have faced the chopping of mature trees which have been deemed dangerous or diseased. We look at the strong affection we have for trees and how their loss affect us.

We visited centenarian Bill Lucas last month. He has just celebrated his 100th birthday. He lived his whole life in a few hundred square yards in Shepperton Green, albeit with a stint overseas during WW2. Read about it in this months Shepperton Matters.

At the far side of the Littleton Rec in Shepperton Green, sits the modest home of a great little gem. The Academy Boxing Gym is run by volunteers and offers the chance for youngsters to get off the streets and off X Boxes and find an outlet for their energy.
