@CaseyAPratt It’s a terrible movement. It has never succeeded and has probably contributed to cities losing their teams. I don’t understand why it is celebrated or encouraged for others.

The Laney College debacle was the tipping point for me -- and several smart people I know in the industry. I once asked David Kaval how it was possible to lose possibly the best available site because they weren't prepared vs. a community college board and he had no answer.
@timkawakami When we found out that Fisher and Kaval didn't even consult with and get approval from the Peralta Community College District Trustees when they announced that the stadium site would be at Laney, my thought was - they can't be that incompetent! What a hell of an awakening...

I was thinking about the Coliseum all day on Saturday. A huge congrats to @oaklandrootssc and @EdreeceA, but the biggest kudos goes to all East Bay fans. You are standing up for yourselves and reclaiming your community. So proud.

I also need to say that this whole idea of fan ownership has been something Jorge has been fighting for, for years now. He does so much that no one ever sees to bring a voice to the fans of Oakland and has worked behind the scenes with the Ballers and Roots on all our behalf.
