The maven system can create some whacky transitive dependencies. We had a library, which used testng for some reason. Moved it to junit and suddenly bunch of modules in the repo where it was referenced started breaking! #maven #Java

TIL: How prometheus calculates the rates for the counters. Until the counter has enough samples corresponding to "interval" in the query, take it with large grain of salt.
