To read is fine. To re-read is divine: To rediscover words. To discover contexts. To put your finger on feelings that evaded you the first time, in definitions that were vague. To ride smooth where once it was bumpy. To discover bridges where once there was a gaping space...

Before Britain left Nigeria in 1960, there were negotiations. Have Nigerians ever asked what exactly was negotiated… and for who? Britain did not negotiate independence with Nigerians as a people. They negotiated with regional elites (Nnamdi Azikiwe (East), Obafemi Awolowo

The other day I caught myself saying “shame on you Su” because I failed to complete a task. I immediately corrected myself and said, “grace on you Su”. Because, we don’t do that anymore. I hope you learn to continually extend grace to yourself.

This made me remember Game of Thrones. I started watching on DVD in Kaduna, after each season, I’ll run to the market to look for the next one, then I came to Lagos and continued with downloaded versions on PC. Before uni was over, we were streaming. Evolution before my eyes.

I feel so far removed from the life I was living a year ago. Doesn’t even feel like a reality I partook it. More like a tale of sorts.

One visionary leader can try, but the reason we can’t even put a visionary leader in power is because we don’t have the vision to start with. It’s painfully funny.

They’ll keep treating you with your green passport like trash till we all stop moving like trash. Ten people thinking progressively cannot change anything. Unless everyone, especially at the grass root get the memo, nothing changes. Countries will ban you and laugh in your face

Tbh, Nigeria enjoyed some glory. The problem is that we’ve held on to that past glory with arrogance not realising that the world is passing us by. We’re poor, dirty and haggard but we sit on the streets proudly broken singing songs of how we used to be great. Wake tf up!!!
