@andreasklinger People might think this is just nitpicky, but gmail is often the place people keep their logins to all their precious data, their banking, etc…. Having an overt signal of oversight, poor design, etc… is legitimate cause for concern when the stakes are high.

This is f*ed up. We’re headed to a police state fast.
The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions. LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice. We are in close.

I binged @GlowUpBBC and I’ve gotta say, I think any contestant who takes beautiful luminous black skin and makes it matte with orange undertones should get an automatic red chair. The show could use it as a teaching moment, instead they acted like it didn’t happen. 🐘🙈.

This question of why devs use frameworks was not asked in a rigorous way fwiw. I’d love to see someone reproduce this with a large sample size. The question about using frameworks and other tools had 10k or more respondents, I don’t remember exactly, maybe 20-30k? Sorry, it’s.

~98% of devs use frameworks. Chances are, most people who use WC *also* use frameworks. Ignore the shouty (very online) voices and use any combo that makes sense for your project. Purists be damned.

Frameworks aren’t bulky/slow: We also reviewed some perf data by framework, and sites using Polymer and Web Components were the *slowest*. SSR is essential to quickly seeing pixels and WC were all client-side. Interestingly, they were also slower to be interactive. Too much JS.

When working on chrome we did a study and found that very few devs (~2%?) don’t use frameworks. These devs are less likely to use any other tools, and most work alone. In other words: hobbyists and dabblers. Frameworks are an integral part of the web platform.
