Is it more important to get bigger muscles, or to get stronger? For warding off cognitive decline, per a new study, strength is 10X more important than muscle mass. Same is true for all-cause mortality... which is good news for skinny endurance athletes. https://t.co/iaVSxC3XXM

There's no such thing as a dangerous exercise, only dangerous loads. All exercises can be regressed to find the right dose of stress/load for an individual. That's the real value of having a Personal Trainer or Physiotherapist. #PersonalTraining #physiotherapy

Liz Truss repeatedly told the BBC that energy bills are capped at £2,500. They are not. This figure is based on what a “typical” household with average use will pay. It is *not* the maximum amount any household will pay.

GDP is rightly a key metric for countries. It provides the money we need to fund key services and investment so that, as a society, we can live healthy and prosperous/happy lives within healthy/happy communities. So why don't we report on health/wellbeing as well as we do GDP?

"If exercise could be packaged in a pill, it would be the single most widely prescribed and beneficial medicine in the world." This quote has been used a lot before but it's always worth reminding ourselves.

When trying to lose weight a strategy that's worked really well with the vast majority of our clients, is focusing on what to eat more of not less of. Instead of focusing on restrictive fad diets focus on eating better quality foods such as vegetables and protein. #weightloss

Osteosarcopenia is the result of the interaction of lifestyle factors (sedentarism, obesity, poor diet) with endocrine, genetic, and mechanical factors that lead to weakening and loss of bone and muscle, resulting in a higher risk of falls and fractures… https://t.co/N1zOHEPpkm

Great to see the 'Once for Scotland' paper out today. 'Rehabilitation and Recovery: A person centred approach' Although we must not forget the workforce requirements needed to implement, it is a step forward for rehab in #Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 https://t.co/ZBZwJlYEwh

Posture is not the only factor that contributes to pain. In many cases, it probably does not contribute at all. This is obvious from a simple observation: there are a lot of people with good posture who are in terrible pain, and also many people with bad posture but no pain.

It's a myth that your metabolism slows due to getting older. At least not until you reach the age of 60. If you think yours is slowing then it's much more likely to be due to habits/lifestyle.

Three weight loss hacks: 1. One simple, consistent change at a time to reduce calorie intake ♻️. 2. Eat more protein (aim for at least 1.2g per kilo grams of bodyweight. 3. Eat lots of fruit and veg 🍉🍅🥗🥙🥝🥒🥕 This is an oversimplification but it's a good start ✅
