Pete Frates ’03, whose ALS fight inspired the world, passed away today surrounded by his family due to complications from the disease. Said Dr. Hardiman: “Pete will always be an amazing role model of resilience, perseverance, and servant leadership.”

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Pete Frates '03. Pete, who sparked a cultural phenomenon by popularizing the Ice Bucket Challenge, was a renowned advocate for ALS research. We remember Pete and honor his unprecedented efforts in search of a cure for ALS.
Eighth-year head football coach Brian St. Pierre ‘98 has been named the top gridiron coach in Mass. on MaxPreps’ list of the Top Football Coach in All 50 States. St. Pierre led SJP to back-to-back D1 Super Bowl wins, marking the first in school history!

St. John’s Prep has received a philanthropic gift of $1 million from Kristine Trustey P’11 and Sean McGraw on behalf of the Trustey Family Foundation. The charitable donation is earmarked to support programming, facilities, and training in the realm of mental health and wellness.

Earlier this afternoon there was a report of an active shooter on campus at Benjamin Hall. Danvers and State police reported to campus and the school entered an enhanced lockdown protocol. We believe that St. John's was the victim of a Swatting call.

. Most recently, Bill served as the OC at Alabama helping guide Bryce Young to a Heisman Trophy & an appearance in the national championship game w/ the Crimson Tide.
The Eagles played one of the state’s most difficult schedules and it’s paying off in the Division 1A Super 8 State Tournament. On Saturday, the Prep netted an OT goal in four-on-four play to edge BC High, 2-1. Next up? A Wednesday night showdown with Pope Francis in Framingham!

Congratulations to the St. John's Prep varsity lacrosse team for defending its Division 1 state championship last night in an 11-5 victory over BC High at Worcester State University. It's the Eagles second consecutive state championship and third overall (2010, 2021, 2022).

St. John’s celebrated the Class of 2020 during the Prep’s 110th Commencement. Headmaster Hardiman presided over the ceremony honoring its 263 seniors. Abiding by mask & social-distancing requirements, the ceremony took place in Cronin Memorial Stadium.
