Saturday evening stroll with grandkids to Nigel's for gelato and enjoying the street life at Serenbe. Building a new town on the edge of Atlanta that resembles small towns of yesteryear, but with residents from around the world

People are sending me the CBS news story on the new city of California Forever. Evidently it reminds them of our creation of Chattahoochee Hills and building the village of Serenbe. #serenbe #CaliforniaForever #biophilicdesign

We had a unique opportunity to preserve 65,000 acres of what is now @ChattHillsGA, the largest landmass near an urban center with an international airport. In our case the worlds busiest, and it is only 20 minutes away.

@UrbanLandInst was doing a study at the time into why there were so many developments building with golf courses. It was because people wanted land, wanted nature by their homes.

20 yrs ago I saw bulldozers in our wildflower meadow and knew this rural paradise would succumb to urban sprawl eventually. With the help of neighbors and friends, we changed minds, we changed the rules, and we showed that you can develop in concert with nature.
