In the event that a firm wishes to violate the terminology defined by tens of thousands of the grandmothers and grandfathers of open source, then they need to accept they will be derided, publicly. I could conclude with a “therefore”.

If a firm is unwilling to use an OSI approved license, then they also choose not to call their software “open source”.

For over 20 years, that is two decades, the OSI has defended the words “Open Source” from “license innovation”. A better language for “license innovation” is “license proliferation”. If a person or firm is unwilling to use an OSI approved license, that is their choice.
