It looks like it is just a refilling of the application for D2D https://t.co/smcuR6YCwx
@SpaceX appears to have refiled its MSS applications as amendments/mods for its Gen 2 system, one for the PCS G block ( https://t.co/fOcohm6prz) and one for L-band and S-band ( https://t.co/TdKezYZkuA)

I guess this puts the Iridium/QualComm D2D system in second place to AST SpaceMobile $ASTS #SpaceMob
In a surprising turn of events @SpaceX today withdrew all three @FCC filings for direct-to-handset cellular service to be provided from Starlink satellites filed in 2022 and detailed below. Reasons are unknown yet. H/T: @JRyanThomp

OK, before the next PAT, the Cowboys need to commit a bunch of penalties so it will be the equivalent of a 60 plus yard field goal. Maher is gold from that distance. #MaherMisses

An absolute must read thread from @thekookreport
I had some similar thoughts here, but wanted to use this insight tweet by "Matt" to think out loud a bit about the news flow that $ASTS might choose to orchestrate (it'll happen regardless) to make the stock a "must own" throughout 2023. Let's talk out loud

37/37 That's never bad information to have as you enter into negotiations for binding contracts with MNOs.

36/37 For AST management, demand for the Snapdragon Satellite chipset (as opposed to premium offerings from QualComm without Iridium integration) can serve as a signal for appetite for satellite communications in the larger cell phone industry.

35/37 Any demand signals generated by use of Iridium on Qualcomm should be considered a floor for demand, not a ceiling. But still the same, this partnership should give AST investors an early look at the demand for satellite communications in developed economies.

34/37 Put another way, these are the kind of phones more likely to appeal to a certain percentage of people in developed economies. This isn't a solution for connecting the unconnected in developing countries. Those are some big considerations to take into account.

33/37 It is only when two way (non-emergency) messaging, or voice applications are offered will we be able to judge interest in satellite offerings. The Snapdragon Satellite chipset will only be offered in premium phones.

32/37 Second, emergency communications are free in several places around the globe. If limited to an emergency service only, the revenue generated by this partnership will be reduced.

31/37 The initial service offerings from this partnership are significantly less robust than what AST will be offering through it's MNO partners. Less robust offerings should lead to less robust demand.

30/37 The thing that I find most interesting about the agreement between Qualcomm and Iridium is that it provides AST investors the potential to look at the potential demand for SpaceMobile service before the service is commercially available. First a few words of caution.

29/37 Of course, unlike AST, Iridium doesn't have the ability to manufacturer satellites in-house, so the economics of a robust satellite network seem to favor AST. What AST Investors should look for

28/37 …SpaceMobile network will scale much farther than Iridium Next can scale. That should remain true until and unless Iridium decides to upgrade the capacity of their satellites.

27/37 While we are still waiting on performance numbers (and will continue to wait for a while - I don't expect BlueWalker 3 to have the same performance as the BlueBird satellites will have - even before MIMO is taken into account), I think it is a safe assumption that the…
