The only book-length study of Gottlob Frege’s political thought, this detailed critique shows how his nationalism, racism, & fascism are informed by his work in other areas, and by influences like Lotze, Bauch, Triepel, & Sombart.

This book is the first to examine in minutiae the politics of Gottlob Frege (1848–1925), and his connections with various traditions of far-right and fascist thought. Frege was a philosopher of...

On the 100th anniversary of his death, let’s not fail to note Gottlob Frege’s grave failings as a thinker. Just when Germany needed its intellectuals to oppose fascist terror, he chose to embrace it.

Embarrassing self-parody.
This is a delicate moment. It’s a new day and yet so many are on edge. Our politics are inflamed, and social media only adds to the anxiety. It seems that @elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on.

I’ve written this piece on the embrace in the early-1920s of fascist politics by Gottlob Frege (founder of analytic philosophy), the relation of that choice to the rest of his philosophy, and its implications for his legacy as we approach the centenary of his death.
“Like Heidegger, Schmitt and many others, Frege failed this test, welcoming fascism and the spread of eliminationist antisemitism with unreserved enthusiasm…”
