I could go on and on about Open Streets yesterday. To keep it short, @sarahhoyles + @Wildheart_YEG deserve all the thanks in the world! @pathsforppl has started something in Edmonton that will fundamentally shift how people see our streets. #openstreetsyeg

It is being spoken about by hard working local journalists
Interesting election story line: looks like the new Edmonton city council will include both Michael Janz — a frequent police critic — & former Edmonton Police Association head Michael Elliott. There’s been some … acrimony between them in the past.

We never thought we'd be posting a story like this of an Edmonton man on a bike deliberately hit. “It’s incredibly disturbing to see such disregard for life captured on video simply for online entertainment,” said acting Staff Sgt. Richard Windover. https://t.co/EXgutXSrGx

We like that the province is building more schools closer to home. @DevinDreeshen let's not block cities from building the right infrastructure that allows kids to get there safely and independently. https://t.co/v1krEyETgb

Why are protected lanes so important on bike routes? A Calgary man died on this painted, unprotected bike route today. This YYC route is due to have protected infrastructure in 2026. YEG, we need to continue to build protected bike routes to keep cycling viable and safe. #yegcc

We’ve done big things over the last 10 years and our city has seen positive, impactful change, which is the kind of progress we hope to keep pushing for. Your support helps ensure we remain a strong advocate for active transportation in Edmonton.

Pleased to contribute to @laurby’s piece. My punchline: “Edmonton is a city that is built for real life, and I think that more and more people are realizing real life is what’s in highest demand. You can feel financially secure, you can have a good job.” https://t.co/HHzuiIwKht

Keeping our multi-use paths and bike lanes well maintained makes active transportation a safe, fun, easy and more efficient way to get around in winter. ❄️
This multi-use path maintenance by the city along Rail Trail is great. A light amount of packed snow rather than aiming for bare pavement works well for winter cycling, walking, jogging and rolling. Applying a gravel/sand mix can provide even further traction. Love it! #yegcc

Traffic enforcement saves lives. Removing photo radar removes an effective enforcement tool and it means instead of law breakers funding traffic safety we will have to reduce the size of our police force or pass the cost onto law abiding tax payers. #yyccc #ableg #yyc
Province’s photo radar purge leaves Calgary police with $28M shortfall; taxes may need to rise, warns councillor https://t.co/m6lpQxxSrk

I can’t believe he said “any further” imputing that he has in fact purposefully done harm up to this point hahahahah omg
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: "We do not seek to harm Albertans any further. But I said it needs to be fair for all Canadians. We can't have one region of the country carrying a bigger burden because of Donald Trump's actions."

I will continue to beat the drum on how collaboration, not antagonism between governments gets results. The feds, province and munis are doing great work on Alberta housing - and could do more if they set said petty and symbolic fights. https://t.co/99xKLSwmRd
