New paper published in @Soc_Stud_Sci today! It argues that we need to think more cohesively about the emotions involved in sociotechnical imaginaries (the shared ideas & feelings we have about science & technology). Here's a thread of the main arguments 1/.

The lack of sociological training or experience really shows at times in the science communication literature. Mainly when discussing power. There can be a lack of awareness of longstanding debates around key concepts like democracy, representation, identity, meaning, inclusion. .
