Hiking in Duke Forest today and saw this sign. Thought it was odd to see in the woods. Wonder the context for it. I made sure to yield.

Finished reading Paradise Lost this morning. Excellent read but not easy. Amazing how much the English language has changed over the years. Always enjoy this time of the year. Working toward finishing my reading goals and planning new ones for next year.

Peaceful Thanksgiving morning at the lake. Enjoying watching the sun rise over the mist, reflecting on the many blessings I have been given. Also looking forward to a great meal with family later today.

Kathryn is kicking off our Pharmacy Administration and Leadership short course at Monash Health. This is for their team leads across their hospitals. Global leadership needs and lack of well trained people for hospital pharmacy are universal.

Had a great doughnut in Melbourne at Queen Victoria Market. While vanilla cream filled is still my favorite, the jam doughnuts here are good.

Enjoyed my first SHPA meeting. Really enjoyed the content, energy, and connecting with hospital pharmacists in Australia. I hope to return. Had a few times meeting someone who I have valued their articles over the years. Great to put a face with the names.

Had a wonderful time in Cairns. Wish I was able to take better advantage of the many things to do, but leaves me wanting to come back. Also, always enjoy seeing or tasting items that are not available in the US.

Had a chance to hike with my family today on the Mountains to Sea Trail. While a little warm, it was still beautiful.

Spending the weekend at the beach and finishing up the inferno section of Dante’s divine comedy. With how hot it is, I feel like I have all senses engaged as I read about hell. Not sure what location I should select for reading purgatory and heaven for the same experience.

Had a chance to attend my first high school football game in probably 30 years. Pretty cool it was in Panther Stadium.

Had an enjoyable evening watching the Durham Bulls. Had the privilege to watch more baseball than usual this summer and enjoyed each time.

One of the things I have come to appreciate while working at a research university is access to the libraries and their broad selection of books. I checked out Dante’s Divine Comedy today. Looking forward to going on the journey.

Great news. Can’t wait to make some ice cream. Will make sure to share with the school. Might have to make it Friday afternoon at 4:30 pm so I can limit how much I need to make.
Thank you to the #UNCPharmacy HR Office for treating us on National Ice Cream Sandwich Day! We'd also like to announce that Stephen Eckel was the winner of the Ice Cream Maker Raffle! Congratulations!

Saw my neighbor cutting his grass with a sickle today. While I realize we are concerned with global warming and greenhouse gas emissions, not sure I am ready for this level of action yet.

Great wrap up to our ITPS summer program at @UNCPharmacy. We heard presentations from our students, had a celebratory meal, gave out the certificates, and enjoyed a Durham bulls game. I think the UNC faculty enjoyed it as much as the participants. Join us in Chapel Hill next year

What a great program to have back as a residential experience while also offering a virtual option. It was our most diverse audience to date. I enjoyed lecturing in it and getting to know the students.
Throughout July, students from Singapore, China, Taiwan, India and Ethiopia come to UNC to learn more about pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences! Learn more about the #UNCPharmacy Office of Global Engagement's ITPS program in the story below:
