(4/4) We consider the different justice concerns in a range of examples from Scottish nature recovery. We argue that historicizing contexts is crucial for highlighting justice concerns and creating more equitable governance alternatives.

(3/4) Multispecies justice and multi-dimensional justice offer alternative framings of justice and how it can be achieved. Integrating multispecies justice and multi-dimensional justice approaches can inform nuanced analyses of nature recovery projects.

As an ecologist specialising in species' responses to climate change, I am deeply troubled by growing calls pushing for assisted colonisation. Whilst well meaning, this concept is built on a very outdated understanding of how species interact with climate.

With the climate changing, many species are marching towards cooler climes โ€“ but trees are being outpaced. Some ecologists say assisted movement is the answer

The argument highlights the political ambivalence of increasing measurement accuracy and high-tech measurement. It matters how, and by whom, measurement technologies are used.
