Long time no see. Maybe you remember me from my Career Conversations channel. After diving into corporate I now started my own business as a healthcare marketing consultant. Looking forward to see how you have been doing.

I just saw a post that said: "Your best is what you can do while maintaining your physical and mental health. It is not what you can accomplish by disregarding them."

Have you ever felt like that? How do you manage to truly recognize your own progress – before your brain immediately minimizes it again? 👇 I’d love to hear how you handle this 👇 #ImposterSyndrome #EntrepreneurLife #MindsetMatters #GrowthJourney 9/9

Because here’s the thing: People who doubt themselves today often stand exactly where they dreamed of being one year ago. You’ve grown. You’ve moved. You’re just too busy chasing the next thing to notice. 8/

So maybe what we need isn’t just more self-confidence. Maybe we need to pause more often. Not to throw a party for ourselves – But to recalibrate our sense of reality. To notice the progress we’ve made before we dismiss it again. 7/

That thought isn’t a sign of failure. It’s a sign that my internal evaluation system can’t keep up with my actual growth. And I don’t think I’m alone in this. A lot of us experience imposter feelings – Not because we’re behind, But because we’ve actually made progress. 6/

I was already planning the next goal. The next benchmark. The next thing to fix or improve. And because I never consciously feel like I’ve accomplished something, I end up thinking: “I can’t really do that much.” 5/

“Is my client base diversified enough?” That’s a valid concern – but it’s operating on a totally different level. And still, I found myself sitting there yesterday thinking: “I haven’t achieved anything.” Not because it’s true. But because I forgot how far I’ve come. 4/

And instead of celebrating, my brain moved the goalposts: “Well, let’s see if they’ll even stay 3 months...” Spoiler: they did. In fact, we’ve now worked together for several months – successfully. But instead of being proud, I had a different thought… 3/

When I started my business, I had one clear, simple goal: 🎯 Sign 2 clients in the first 6 months. That felt ambitious. It was the benchmark I used to measure success. But then something happened that I wasn’t prepared for: I hit that goal within the first week. 2/

🧵 Imposter syndrome doesn’t just come from self-doubt – but also from progress. Here’s what I’ve learned 👇 Our standards adjust so quickly to success that we forget how far we’ve come. We move the goalposts – and forget to notice that we already scored. 1/

I believe that our biggest strength can turn into our biggest weakness in the wrong environment. In case you feel like you are not enough, check if your environment is wrong. Sometimes, this is a comparably easy change to make.

This is your kind reminder to focus on your goals instead of the people who are trying to tear you down. And now, go do something awesome!!!

But, honestly, it is. It is a comparably small sacrifice to leave work early. You are not letting your employer or your customer or yourself down by recharging. Instead, you are prioritising future, long-term success

The easiest change was to switch to decaf coffee. When we are tired, we should sleep and not numb the tiredness with caffeine. Respecting when my body is tired was such an important change. My past self would say that most of the time, it's not possible to step back and sleep

Your mental and physical health is the most important thing that you have. Last year, I had some stress-related hearing loss on my left ear. Eversince then I changed everything. This included leaving corporate for good. The easiest hack is in the thread below.

In corporate, you need elbows to rise to the top. It's very much about internal politics. To me, this was very depressing. It's the opposite of my own business Being kind is a big strength when it comes to working with customers, so my weakness has become my biggest strength

I have been very silent here on Twitter. It's because I had the chance to do so many things that were right for me as soon as I left academia. Wishing you all a wonderful week xxx

That was at a phase where I was unhappy with both life and work. What I truly wanted was to just get out of academia If you also set yourself goals that are too high, it is worth to think about what you truly want. Maybe there is a way to be more gentle to yourself AND be happy
