Congrats to Savannah, GA native Kamari Maxwell for being named the United Athletic Conference freshman of the Week, following his performance in the Govs 42-10 win over Utah Tech on Sept. 27. Maxwell had 4 receptions for a game-high 71 yards.

Savannah State LB Darrian Bell had a game-high 10 tackles in the Tigers 37-20 loss to Kentucky State on Sept. 27, 2025. Bell grew up in Louisville , KY which is less than an hour from Frankfort. He leads SSU in tackles (31) , TFL (5.0) and forces fumbles (2).

Savannah, GA native Langston Lewis had a game-high seven receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown to help Central Michigan beat Eastern Michigan 24-13 on 9/27/25. A graduate of Islands HS, the red-shirt junior wide receiver entered the game with just seven catches for 78 yards.

Savannah State put up 45 points in their 45-19 win over Miles. It was the first time in the Aaron Kelton era that SSU has scored 45 points and the first time they have scored that many points since 2021 when the Tigers dropped 49 points on Clark Atlanta in a 49-14 Homecoming win

Savannah State has seemingly found their 2025 version of the "Triple Threat" in WR Cinsere Clark, TE Arik Gilbert and WR Jadon Adams. Clark leads the team with 15 catches for 186 yds and 3 TDs, Gilbert has 11 catches for 145 yds and 1 TD and Adams has caught 6 passes for 83 yds.

Benedict had 380 yards of offense while their defense yielded Tuskegee (2-2) to 87 yards on the ground in a 45-24 win over the Golden Tigers on Thursday night in Columbia, SC. QB Darius Ocean led the way with 213 passing yds and 4 TDs. The win keeps Benedict undefeated at 3-0.
