Does anyone else teach a course like this who'd be willing to chat about it or share a syllabus? I have a good outline for what I think I'd like to try, but this is a totally new prep and I'm both nervous and excited!. Labs will be 3 big projects + 3 field trips + final poster.

Other than reading papers and case studies, are there any good basic textbooks or book chapters I should be aware of? Popular nonfiction books? Documentaries? It's an elective so I have a lot of freedom to decide what we will do, with a mix of Biology and Data Analytics majors!.

I get to teach a "Dynamic Ecology" undergrad class next semester that blends data analytics and ecology concepts. We will explore concepts and measures for short-term, long-term, and deep-time changes. (yes I know it is the same name as a famous blog, but that's what stuck!).

I am having very mixed feelings about using twitter these days. But, has anyone found a good alternative? I haven't figured out mastodon yet. I found my scientific community here to be SO helpful for the past 10 years as I navigated grad school, postdoclife, and tenure track.
