The DNC didn’t “generate” candidates, that’s what the primary is for. If you want a specific candidate in the general, then get involved in the primary process.

Tempe has proposed an affordable housing density bonus, allowing developers to build denser and taller in exchange for renting a number of units to those making below a certain income. We dive into the details in our latest article (link later in the thread).

Love losing access to my main account due to them wanting to "retire" the twitter domain for some fuckoff reason.

Why does my insurance pay ~$1000 a month for PrEP when it'd cost me $30 with a discount card?

There are some that have a idealized version of farming and would try to claim "But you need to eat!" But the majority of farming isn't efficiently used for food either. A great deal of it is used for ethenol, cotton, or animal feed.
Grok 4, likely the largest publicly released model ever trained, required less water than a square mile of farmland uses in a year "Exaggerated" doesn't even begin to describe how unfounded the AI water usage concerns are

Project Hail Mary works so well as an audiobook. Highly recommend. Do not wait for the film, Read/listen to it beforehand.

Doing a round trip to San Francisco in ~42 hours is an interesting experience. Not sure if I recommend. If you have unmedicated ADHD I almost certainly _don't_ recommend it.

It can't be mentally healthy to be constantly refreshing @tempegov's permit search to see when the fiber provider finally is going to have construction in your neighborhood. Yet here I am.

Would love to see small walk-up stores like this in neighborhoods in Tempe. It should be normal to be able to go to a neighbor and have them sell you odds and ends, groceries, or coffee.
Japanese people run tiny shops like this because they're allowed to. We could also be allowed to, and that's what "urbanism" is all about. https://t.co/UA682kt7LX

I can understand harsher requirements and permitting processes for industry, but why do we let local governments spend up to a decade ping ponging with local developers over spaces for people. Both commercial and residential should be a by-right building process.

There's a lot of negativity in politics, so we want to take a moment to say thanks to Rep. @BrianGarciaAZ for being a voice for pro-housing Tempe voters this session. We hope to see more of this leadership in the weeks to come!

A reminder that when lamenting the days of yore, the stories that are most often retold are the stories of the upper class at the time. That's who had the time and money to write their stories down.

In a stunning new poll, 35% of Arizona born residents considered leaving the state due to housing prices 60% would support new housing built near them if it lowered overall prices Major indictment of the status quo Story link below ⬇️

In case you thought NIMBYs don't oppose ALL housing, they are arguing right now against HB 2191, which will simply allow churches to build transitional housing on their own property to help mitigate the impacts of homelessness. SMH.
