french bread shouldve put initiative dash from partys breaker into another game.... Sometimes im like partys breaker probably isnt that good and then i play it again and it really is that good. So many cool mechanics in that game

something i noticed as i played through every disgaea game is that every time they introduce a mechanic that makes grinding/leveling easier or more convenient they also introduce something else that makes it even more annoying just to compensate

its always important to remember that cps games dont have square pixels and the pixel art is drawn to accommodate the stretching/squashing on arcade monitors. If the sprites look too short or wide then you're not seeing them in their intended aspect ratio

the main thing you might know takamichi for is Ehrgeiz but takamichi has also made some great art for a few ADV games (Hateshinaku Aoi, Kono Sora no Shita de... / Inclusion / STARDUST SQUADRON)

when i was first playing through disgaea 4 a few years ago it irreversibly turned my old laptop's screen green in the middle of a cutscene for some reason and i was already having a bad time so it was like additional psychic damage

Disgaea 1 PS2 has a couple of unused voice lines including one that mentions Makai Wars for some reason. Makes you wonder how long they were planning it for or what its original idea must've been. No visuals so this is just footage of the debug character test
