What a ride it’s been. Today was the last time I will be on this field with my guy. Blessed to coach Jared and these kids for a long time. Special group of kids. Never lost at home from 7-12 grade & tied the school record for wins with 50. Now it’s time to FINISH the job.

Please pray for our Pirate family as we have lost one of our own today. Coach Jim Thomas known to most as “JET” passed away earlier today. Coach Thomas came to SPHS in 2000 after a long career in Alabama. He was part of the coaching staff at SPHS on the 2007,2010, 2021, and 2023

Proud of the fight our kids showed tonight after being down 21-0 in the first half. We showed character and some toughness against a really good Meigs County football team. We will coach them harder and learn from this one. The goal remains the same.

There is not a better choice anywhere. You will not find a better young man than Cameron Grider. He has overcome so much adversity and will do big things in this world. His daddy was my classmate and life long friend. I know he’s looking down and is proud of Cam. Love you bud!

College athletes have a chance to opt out and keep their scholarships and eligibility. Others want to continue to play. Either way you get to make your OWN decision. I respect the decision by some to opt out, but the other side doesn’t respect our decision to play. It’s nuts!
