Asked, finally, by a journalist whether he planned to levy tariffs on the African countries sat before him (Gabon, Senegal, Mauritania, Guineau-Bissau and Liberia) he said probably not; 'they're my friends now'.

The power of Donald Trump's presidency, augmented by 5 African leaders who've been given an opportunity to praise and congratulate him at the White House. It's all about "trade not aid" says Trump, as the leaders of countries that depend on US aid say they support his policies.

I know it's a long flight - but Canada isn't a republic - it's a parliamentary democracy. Nor is Salma Lakhani the 'Governor' - she's the King's rep in Alberta, or the 'Lieutenant Governor'. Plus, Alberta doesn't have a mayor, so I'm pretty sure there's no deputy mayor either.

. the answer is to employ human being(s) - to look after the facility and the bikes. People will pay a fee to use the place if they think their wheels - and their personage will be safe.

Hey Kingston Council, your award-winning, multi-million £££ 'Cycle Hub' isn't working. No one's using it, it's been vandalised and there was a guy shooting up next to my bike when I went to fetch it this afternoon . @RBKingston @cllr_nardelli @KingstonCycling @sw_architects

Truss Prime Ministership, still accompanied by red flashing lights: "U.S. Bond Sell-Off is Another Worrisome Echo of the Liz Truss Fiasco"

Yields on U.S. Treasuries rose Wednesday as investors sold government bonds, usually a haven. In Britain, a sustained version of that trend in 2022 led to a prime minister’s downfall.

Trump is pushing the world to a very real precipice by threatening Greenland's territorial integrity: "we’re going to have to have it," he says. At stake are the values & obligations born of the horrors of the 20th century. If you shrugged it off before - you need to engage now.

Ontario premier, Doug Ford, is actively testing the theory that major stock market falls will work as a restraint on Trump - that's what his electricity tariff is designed to do. Problem is, the US president's aspirations aren't just economic.

Will Donald Trump address Canada’s next Prime Minister as ‘Governor Mark Carney’? Expect fewer emotional outbursts from the new Liberal leader - and a sober, banker’s eye as he heads into battle:

Canada stands alone says 'the Globe' - even Britain failing to defend it: "The U.S. is now a protection racket, providing security only to countries that give it something in return – critical minerals, oil & gas, obeisance, invitations to meet a king." .
