The electron beam welder would be on a circular track, in this one, so it could access any joint, external or internal.

This area would have a sealed door for access. If the pressure drops slightly, a robotic arm would patch the leak. If it is a major crack, a robotic electron beam welder can reinforce and seal it. It would also act as the connecting matrix for all utilities movement.

Looking at the docking modules and looking at the idea of giving up 1m-1.5m on each end and keeping them open to space except for the elevator/dock. This creates a sealed airlock at joints. If there is a joint leak, it will instantly be seen as a low pressure area.

For those that don't understand the meanest of this comment, although it doesn't seem to be necessarily untrue, Duffy has been trying to scuttle Jared's nomination again and trying to take over NASA, folding it into Dot so he can have both positions.

Every once in awhile , I like to throw out a shout out to @Elisabe09456260 (RIP) who was an avid SpaceX/Elon fan, mom, born again student, pot smoker and generally cool person who was killed 4 years ago by an unknown hit and run driver in Albuquerque near her home.

So Duffy's statement that SpaceX is falling behind and therefore needs competition is inappropriate.They were put in last place through government ineptitude and are only this far because they are self funding and a tenacious fight against government bureaucracy holding them down

Sadly, of all the people in Trump's admin, Sean Duffy seemed the most intelligent and useful. So this little war between him and Elon will be interesting. I suspect something happened right before Duffy sideswiped SpaceX with the unnecessary slam.

Whenever society has a problem, it needs to be seen though an engineering perspective, as well as an ethical one. First, the solution must be ethical. Then, it must follow the laws of human nature, as if it were physics. ICE engines create heat. You can't destroy heat.

Am I wrong that I just want to get back to fulfilling human manifest destiny among the stars? I want a NASA director who doesn't give in to the worst instincts of government and stands up to make things happen, rather than doing showboat programs and missions that do nothing.

This response to me has absolutely zero understanding of black markets, demand/supply, logistics, cause/effect, or the physical and legal origins of fentanyl. Whatever it did, it didn't save any Americans from a fentanyl overdose death. Blowing up Martians to stop the Venusians

But apparently the studio wanted more space exploration so they turned it into being lost IN space, not marooned, added the robot, added Dr Smith and made it more of a wholesome, fun adventure.

I watched the original unaired pilot for Lost in Space and it was intersting because it made more sense in that they were marooned on a planet (instead of an island like the original Robinsons) and were going to explore and try to stay alive.
