Acting in sci-fi and fantasy movies is heavily underrated because I imagine it takes a lot for actors to believably deliver dialogue like "the brain pods zorped her whole family. They're in the Blob Dimension now" without laughing or wanting to die

This might be the best performance Foster has given in a movie since the 90s (though admittedly, I haven't seen a ton of her stuff this century outside Panic Room, Flight Plan, The Brave One, and......... Nyad.....)

Some words on Rebecca Zlotowski's A PRIVATE LIFE which features some predictably great work from Jodie Foster and Mathieu Amalric and an amusing mystery-conspiracy plot that loses all its steam in the last half hour. But still fun/worth a watch: https://t.co/8CfOWr5ROa

Alec Baldwin plowed his Range Rover into a large tree in the Hamptons. He was in the vehicle with his brother, Stephen Baldwin. Both survived the crash.

Rest in Peace to the great Drew Struzan, a man whose work sparked the imaginations of a whole generation of movie nerds. The master is gone. I had the privilege of visiting him in his studio once and getting to talk shop. Here’s his words on one of his masterpieces:

i think it’s more important to have good taste than to be a good writer, and my qualms with most arts writing, be it academic or not, is that i feel like the author does not have good taste. their lack of curiosity—their crowdsourced interests—just makes the writing meaningless.
