i get was op is saying and i mostly agree but the found family comment feels shoehorned in to help further their argument but that just doesn’t make much sense for a character like superman and his family.

“found family trope” and its two parents and the son they raised his entire life ??
I think my problem with Jor El and Lara being evil was that it was an easy way for Gunn to force another found family trope into a movie, a character, who doesn’t really fit that theme. Superman is a product of two worlds, not one.

if you think about it like a monthly vs yearly subscription, usually the yearly subscription is less but it’s a longer commitment and you risk not using something that you paid for in advance if that makes sense 👍🏽. ex. the annual TIE patreon sub that i don’t use ☠️

when i was a kid i got put in time out at daycare so i shoved a rock in my ear to get sent home but it was stuck so i had to go to the ER. and they were playing dora on the TV while my dad held me down as the doctor scraped a metal tool in my ear canal to get the rock out.
