This Week in Rails is out! Included in the week’s updates: - A fix for sanitizing content in ActionText attachments that resolves image preview issues in Trix. - Puma.rb updates now included (again) with app:update. - Introduction of a new start_transaction.active_record event

New feature drop! Just added the ability to populate a new event form with details of a previous event. As I've added more options to the form, it's become quite large. I hate filling forms out, so I'm trying to make this one as pain-free as possible. #buildinpublic #rails

I've always found it interesting how established companies like Evernote or Meetup end up growing into massive companies with huge dev teams and somehow their product doesn't change or improve for years on end - they actually get worse.

Then in the past year, they decided it would be a good idea to show this popup on every single login.

Probably I hadn't been dissatisfied enough with @evernote to look for an alternative, but they've somehow managed to become more shit over time. I was a paying customer, but their desktop and web apps would freeze constantly, so I reverted to free.

This one involved a new page for copy + pasting email addresses into, adding a new BulkInvitation form object to create multiple records in one go, adding a new mailer for sending out the invites - and turning on sidekiq on Heroku so we can use deliver_later for all our mails 📨
