Congratulations to the brilliant and beautiful (and opinionated 🙂 ) @jocelynelloyd on her new @SaltWireNetwork gig! As she says, we do better when we share (and debate) our ideas.

All I want for Christmas (hopefully before Twitter Autopilots™ into oblivion) is to see this photo running again, with the caption: "New PEI Executive Council meets". That is a lot of Awesome at one table.

Plus 1 (million) on the comments from @karlabernardmla and @GordMcNeillyPEI regarding the aid (AND advocacy!) work of @ChtownMutualAid There is much we can all learn - individually and collectively - from CMA's wisdom, courage, and compassion.

This is hopeful news for Charlottetown municipal governance in general, and for Ward 1 in particular. Charlottetown will be a better and more compassionate community with @JoMorrisonWard1 on Council.

It’s official - I am so excited to announce that I will be running for Charlottetown city council to represent Ward 1! I feel incredibly grateful to be a part of this community and I want to help us all become even more connected and supportive of each other!

Thanks to @annackeenan for this thread, drawing well-deserved attention to @HousingPei and @ChtownMutualAid, and the inspiring words of @Nouhad_m: “Until all of us are cared for, none of us are.”.

Were it in my power to do so, I would buy it for the fabulous folks @ChtownMutualAid, who would, of course, find at least 27 people needing the assistance of a Brave Little Bucket Truck before end-of-day.

Might @JortsTheCat consider joining the likes of @NaomiAKlein in boosting the amazing young hoomans at @ChtownMutualAid, a grassroots group aiding scores of people left in need by the very poor official response to Storm Fiona on Prince Edward Island? Thanks for considering!.

Newspaper coverage here:. When "history" is happening in real time, it's worth remembering that we can look back to freely-available online content such as this thanks to the efforts of @dmoses and the @UPEILibrary team.

A note to @LMMI_PEI kindreds. When (then) Princess Elizabeth first visited PEI in November, 1951, she was presented with a copy of Anne of Green Gables, "on behalf of the children of Charlottetown". IMG SRC: Charlottetown, 1855-1955, Centennial booklet
