Alan Nanes is a veteran at Bethesda. Worked on BGS games since Morrowind. Designing some of the best content in their games in my opinion - City of Riften, Crimson Fleet. But also leading not the greatest DLCs like Nuka World or Shattered Space

Alan Nanes may have overtook Emil Pagliarulo as a Design Director on TES VI. Emil was a design director (basically second in command after Todd) on Starfield and a lot of people were expecting him to design Elder Scrolls VI as well @bogorad222
