The whole conversation on comps got me thinking about how Geoff Wilson and other big influencers started this obsession w/comps & indoctrinated everyone in how to buy cards. Now, everyone negotiates the same, uses same data, and tries to copy how those guys negotiate.

Here are a couple of sports card selling tips: 1. DO NOT start auctions on eBay at $0.99. Start the bid at a price you are comfortable parting with the card at. 2. Do not let buyers bully you into low prices based on “comps”, especially for scarce cards. Hold the line.

The quality control for 2025-25 Topps Chrome basketball and 2025 Topps Chrome MLS soccer was terrible. Why is Topps getting worse in its quality control? I’m old enough to remember opening 2018 Topps Chrome which was impeccable from quality perspective. @CardPurchaser
