Just watch Elliot Anderson’s performance. Does the dirty work, isn’t afraid to be a leg in, clean passer of the ball. Henderson and Wijnaldum got a lot of stick for not being flashy on the ball, but hard working gritty midfielders is essential to any successful prem side.

Not all, but a lot of issues on and off the ball can be rectified by signing a competent number 6. We don’t win enough duels in the middle which puts constant strain on the back. The slow build up because Grav is more of a carrier than a passer when it comes to progression.

Everything going through Gakpo. Gives the sense he’s been the best of a bad bunch but really it’s damning. Why is the attack built around him receiving the ball more than anyone else? He can’t be the main guy.

Beyond the obvious (new signings change in system, etc), what’s really concerning is how the team presses. Can’t go unnoticed how pivotal both Diaz and Jota were to how we pressed. It was the biggest imprint from the Klopp era. Gakpo/Wirtz/Isak need to work on that.
