Just had a reference through which states how the applicant 'excelled in the psychics module' of a previous programme. Now I'm worried the ghosts might help them cheat in exams 👻.

As of today I am an official Uni of Cumbria @MImagingUoC lecturer (after moonlighting in the role for the last year). Wasn't particularly planned but @charles_sloane has a silver tongue! If you are (or know) a rad AP wanting to progress let me know.

Well this is interesting. Everywhere I've worked patients taking pics of x-rays has been a definite 'no'. To the point I got grumbled at when I got pics of my own x-rays after my radial head # last year! Would be nice to have a brief bit of society guidance on this @SCoRMembers.

This just popped up on my photo memories from 3 years ago. 5 out of 6 of these students stayed with us when they qualified as radiographers, I like to think their student experience had something to do with that! They are great with current students too.

Ran a fun tutorial this morning; our students were looking at CXRs for NG position and then trying to match the correct reports. What do other @SCoRMembers do.for more interactive tutorials? I'm always looking for ideas to avoid powerpoint! @NorthumbriaNHS #radtutorials

'SOP' is such a terrible initialism. Standard operating procedure? Scope of practice? Standards of proficiency? I've always gone with the first but am encountering the others more.

Bad news: been on a busman's holiday. Good news: my self assessment skills are on point and I knew exactly what I'd done pre-xray 😅

1 Be short staffed, stressed and understandably a bit miserable. 2 Have enthusiastic, positive students enter department. 3 Beat that positivity out of them!.4 Be shocked and surprised when they qualify and go to work elsewhere. 5 Back to step 1. .

This is one of the worst things you can do with students. There was only 1 rad who did this to me when I was training, and it was enough for me to still remember the exact conversation all these years later. Why would you want to put someone off a career before it's started?.

- regarding concerns of departments already full with students. This is for APs already in departments, so we're not adding anyone extra. You just need the flexibility for them to get into areas outside their usual scope of practice over the duration of the apprenticeship.
