Banishing of Brasath my favourite scenario so far, completed in Round 15 with Dral, the vicious Barbarian!

A few months ago I had @sious69 over for dinner and a spot of painting of some models that I had #3dprinted on one of my resin printers. He started painting this wonderful model, doing the face and chest, and left it with me.

Another wonderful year of games, and thanks to my regular gaming legends I am blessed to play with weekly and sometimes more frequently. My love of board gaming probably has more to do with the people I play with than I credit it for.

1. Aeon Trespass Odyssey I called this as my game of the year in January. Played 6 full Cycles, painted the entire game and filmed two playthroughs on my YouTube channel. It separates itself from KDM through incredible story, but they feel like opposite sides of the same coin.

2. Dune Imperium One of several games that combined deck building and worker placement to come out in the last few years. Oozes theme, fantastic, crunchy decision making and nice artwork. Looking forward to playing some more soon.

3. Too Many Bones Finally added this game to my collection. It's a delight, incredible production quality. My only let down - I didn't enjoy it as much solo as I thought I would. Fun with a couple of players.

4. KDM Gamblers Chest Fighting its way back into my top 5 list, it's hard not to include this bad boy. What a stunning achievement, revolutionising the game, and the models are incredible. Expect it to feature again next year if more content delivers.

5. Solar 175 A nice little bag building legacy game, we played this quite a few times and expanded our galaxy, and our options in the game. Good for dedicated groups, and some innovative ideas in this genre.

It's time for everyone's favourite posts of the year... my top five board games of 2023. For whatever reason I stopped tracking my plays earlier this year, a good reminder to get back to it. Made picking my top 5 much harder. Anyway, let's get to it!
