Inequality in food consumption is stark - based on physical activity those poorer would need higher calories - we see the exact opposite. And in general, diet quality is poor & cereal-heavy especially those in lower strata. some puzzles remain.

The World Bank $3 and $4.2 poverty lines are in PPP$, so the rupee equivalent are only ₹60 and ₹84. Aren't these too low for today's India? We need our own poverty lines and a proper assessment of people's well-being.

Next round of TUS now out. Between 2019 & 2024, not much change in time spent by women on unpaid domestic chores. Also, very small increase in participation in economic activities unlike the big jump in FLFPR shown by PLFS. Full data will tell us more?.

It seems like not much has changed for women since the last time use survey in 2019, at least as far as the burden of unpaid household work is concerned.
