Thrilled to announce my new book exploring how contemporary American writers reimagine letter-writing in their fiction, examining how epistolary storytelling persists and evolves in our digital age! https://t.co/YzvBqiBFe0

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Sofia Ahlberg as the editor on contemporary American literature for the Literary Encyclopedia. Really enjoyed writing this entry on Gordon Lish.

for @BostonGlobe: “How to explain that from growing my daughter in my body, to nursing her, to sleeping beside her for years, to trying to model the kind of self-love I want her to experience, I became a better person?” https://t.co/wy7uhpZIiI DM for PDF

Motherhood is hard. Immersing myself in the spectacular fails of fictional matriarchs helped me realize I’m not alone in my struggles — and I’m not totally blowing it, after all.

Sometimes all a baby needs to settle is a calm parent; one that is not terrified to disturb the other passengers.

Sitting down to turn my dissertation into a book. One major comment from the reviewers was that the thesis is too short and needs more contextualization. How do I even begin to figure out how long time the revisions will take? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Any suggestions on how to discuss chat gpt in schools? What resources/ strategies have you tried? Some pupils have tried them to write their assignments. How can we instead of punishing them work with the topic to cultivate honesty?

I need help. I was asked to jump in last minute and teach a course “Assessment for Learning” to future teachers of grades 7-9, subject English. Turns out the course is not even developed yet. Would appreciate any suggestions you have for reading. It runs across 7 seminars.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. Today I lit a candle for the baby I lost in 2018. I was 13 weeks along in my pregnancy, but still miss the life that was not to be.

Today’s act of self-care was a late evening swim in a beautiful lake with my son. Sweden is cold in the winter and grey during most of the fall and spring but the fact that we have light outside until well past midnight this time a year makes it almost all worth it.

#ungrading Just found out that I will teach a course in the fall that in my ears sounds like grading hell. Students are graded on the three drafts of an essay and blind graded by two colleagues on their final work 😳

#Ungrading My first workshop on ungrading done. What a conversation! Feeling inspired by knowing that in Scandinavia too and a place like Uppsala University who has long traditions is ready for a change.

#2 the qualifiers “just” and “merely” a student, I am speechless...We can clearly do better.

This term I had “grading talks” with my students where we talked about what they learned and how. In the course evaluation one student wrote: “I felt like I was give an opportunity to be a person in the talk not merely just a student.” Note the distinction between person/student

I am a literary scholarly and only got my doctorate 4 months ago. Just found out that my application for pedagogical development for active student participation in the English literature classroom is being funded. Could not be happier and more terrified. Time to explore!
