Our latest paper just came out. We found that more social parrots have a better vocabulary and females produce more variable call types than males. You can read more here: https://t.co/hN2bJ8CIBt. (PS: the bird in the picture is not a parrot but the cover of RSOS.)

Why do primates have bigger brains🧠? Study @RSocPublishing shows that it’s not for efficient foraging. In the Panamanian rainforest, Ben Hirsch and Meg Crofoot compared how capuchins, spider monkeys, coatis and kinkajous solve the same foraging puzzle. https://t.co/Zizfw0oHS0 🧵

We showed how to keep track of over 200.000 in- and outbound flights by several bat species. The cave where we did this work is one of the most important overwintering grounds for multiple Danish species, and where therefore really need to be able to track the populations.

The first scientific report I contributed to just came out. This was so much faster and has a bigger direct conservation impact than any scientific article I have ever contributed to! Read more here: https://t.co/Z76W5wplpd

It also includes tools to run spectrographic cross correlation with reduced background noise and automatic tracing of the fundamental frequency.

Do you have multiple recordings that need to be aligned? Or want to assign vocalisations to the correct individual? We just published a paper describing an R package that does just that. Read more here: https://t.co/gDzVBkWzf3.

Can you review a paper with frequentist stats if you have to install lme4 to run the scripts :/? Very much hoping for the 'get saved by real statistician' button in ManuscriptCentral.

"The diallelic self-incompatibility system in Oleaceae is controlled by a hemizygous genomic region expressing a gibberellin pathway gene" Sure, everybody will know what that's about.

My first PhD chapter is out as a preprint!🎉 Investigating white-nosed coatis, we collared entire groups and uncovered a fascinating pattern: consistent subgrouping with close relatives!📚

Germany keeps haunting us. Apparently, if we don't pay some unspecified service by the 8th of December my girlfriend can get arrested when crossing the border. That's for just 75 euros and we have no idea what it is :P
