This week on the MNHN series, we showcase some notable historical reptile specimens—the oldest of which was collected 195 years ago. The specimens featured here represent the earliest known local records, making them a particularly important source of information for scientists🔎

This week, we share about the mollusc type specimens digitised in MNHN. These five gastropod specimens are considered micromolluscs due to their extremely small size (even when fully grown). Although tiny, these type specimens are invaluable to the world of malacology🌎

This week, we showcase a few skeletal specimens digitised in MNHN. With mammals, skeletons, especially skulls, are important bones for identification. Skulls reveal information including the animal's diet and lifestyle through teeth and jaw structures, and eye placement.
