If you're dining indoors right now or shopping maskless, you are going to get Covid. The wastewater does not lie and it's everywhere. You might not have symptoms but that won't make it less bad for your body. It's not too late to put on a mask and avoid another infection.

Reminder that adults contract actual influenza, on average, once every 7 years and colds 1-3 times per year. So having Covid 5+ times in 4.5 years is a lot to get an acute illness that knocks you out for days. Even without accounting for sequelae, this doesnβt seem sustainable

βwe conclude that wearing masks, wearing higher quality masks (respirators), and mask mandates generally reduced SARS-CoV-2 transmission in these study populations.β https://t.co/uDDqBZkmMV

βNobody is acknowledging the delay in pediatric [covid] vaccines, nobody is explaining it, nobody is giving updated timelines,β says @drdadsays, a Seattle-area pediatrician.
NEW: Pediatricians and parents are having a hard time getting updated covid vaccine for kids under 5. β¦@FenitNβ© and I look at whatβs going on.

it is absolutely fucking insanity that there is NO PRIORITIZATION to covid vaccines. why? WHY?

The US has messed up its COVID booster rollout. People are cancelling vaccine appointments or are wrongfully being charged because of insurance issues. This is unacceptable. Vaccines should be free regardless of your insurance status.

βΉοΈ DID YOU KNOW? A poorly ventilated classroom has similar effects on a childβs ability to concentrate as skipping breakfast. Clean indoor air doesnβt just limit the spread of COVID-19 and other bugs, itβs good for growing brains. π https://t.co/RAyPlZUVx7

Masking (N95 or better) in company outside of your household is the highest form of respect.

Here I thought the danger would be going indoors with family. But nope. A mere fleeting moment with a stranger while we tried to have a family day did us in. Cool.

Please stop bringing your sick selves and kids in public. We could count the amount of times weβve gone indoors with family in the last three years. Iβm laughing about this when heβs not having trouble breathing while sleeping.

We likely caught w/e it is at the zoo. Either by passing by someone or I didnβt sanitize his hands fast enough. I keep him close, he really doesnβt touch a lot compared to other toddlers and he masks for a lot of the zoo but heβs also 2, so.

I can tell you every single thing we did the last week. We didnβt go indoors with anyone. We skipped Christmas indoors. Visited outside with family, all masked. My son went to the grocery store once, for 5 minutes on a quiet morning, masked. Heβs sick right now.

Going to say it again. The XBB.1.5 variant (Kraken) that is absolutely rocketing in the USA and spreading globally, which has both major immune escape and high ACE2 binding, *evolved in New York*. Not in China. In. The. USA.

THINK LIKE AN EPIDEMIOLOGIST: what the heck is going on with respiratory viruses right now and is it because of covid, because of our attempts to stop covid, or something else? Itβs so much more complicated than some catchy buzzword youβve seen. Letβs dig in deep together!
