New, from me: I'm working on a new vector search SQLite extension, called sqlite-vec, to replace sqlite-vss. Written entirely in C, much more portable, and much more customizable. Big bonus: it'll run everywhere — even WASM! More info, and a demo here:

Goddamn, just mentored/was on the scoring panel for one of the most interesting projects I've ever seen at a hackathon in all my 3 years of engineering, 1st year students btw; implementing a garbage collector in C Congrats @Argentinium26 and team for placing 2nd at InGenius!

It's such a beautiful thing to see systems-oriented projects back at hackathons: (all 1st year students!) one team is attempting to add primitive gc to C, one team is attempting to implement a p2p collaborative text editor... This kinda stuff puts a smile on my face
