"we need strong control like china to actually get things done" is a terrible terrible argument. 2 main reasons why:.1. ethical argument for why freedom matters - top down societies never work, freedom to innovate bottom up is very imp.2. economic arg - such growth is short lived.
I have heard "India will never become China because we don’t have a dictatorship like China" 848389 times in my lifetime. Our understanding of China is so simple, wrong & incomplete.

TIL that @Dropbox actually built a 3 min video marketing & explaining Dropbox to gauge user demand before the MVP was built in 2008. they started working on the actual product after 75k people had alr signed up for the beta waiting list after the release of the marketing video.

indian road contracts are given to those who can bid the lowest (L1 system) to complete the roads & the accountability mechanism for the builders is sooooo scattered that you don't even know who to blame when things like this happen.
I’m amazed how our roads are simultaneously hollow underneath and yet have zero drainage. Schroedingers road. You can’t tell what it is till it collapses.

i think twitter is also a cute sneak peek inside someone's mind bc you get to see the world from someone else's point of view . i.e what they find funny, what they want to share w the world etc.
i would love a utopia where the masses return to blogs. i want to see the world from your point of view no matter what it is. the other day, i read about how a 27 year old man in 2006 was enjoying growing older and doing old people things. i thought it was neat!. i want to.
