At first sight, we had no idea what we needed to make this machine work (if it even did), but those clever guys on the CG wiki ( pointed us in the right direction - we even already had the kit needed to generate a 'black burst' and a sync pulse . 3/5

It's a 3M Datavision D-2000 video character generator for doing video titles, from all the way back in 1975 . 2/5

Oh, this is a thing of absolute beauty. It's a hardback, three volume copy of Shift Happens by @mwichary - it's the complete history of the keyboard, supported by over 1,000 full colour photos. It's also a cracking read. Can't recommend it enough -
