If you are diagnosed with Type2 diabetes then your best bet is adopting a low carb way of eating. The sooner you adopt low carb the better chances to getting a good control & a possible remission. But you have to continue low carb for life to stay in remission.

@hvbhat As per ADA, remission is when we get hba1c below 6.5 with no meds For me, remission is when we hit 5.6 or lower with no meds

@shashiiyengar Medications are also for lifelong. That don’t even treat the root cause. Lifestyle change treat the root cause so that’s a better option.

@shashiiyengar Low carb is the not short term solution as many think rather it's the way to life to continue oneself in T2D Remmision.

@shashiiyengar The best thing? Not to take metformin to help insulin resistance? Not to loose weight? Not to exercise? You’re recommendation is simply a tool which ‘may’help some, but increases risk of other causes of mortality

@shashiiyengar You have to address the underlying pathology to reverse (not put into remission) T2DM irrespective of dietery pattern

@shashiiyengar Yes that is important to understand that have to go low carbs for rest of life. Some misunderstood that if they have brought the reading down than good to consume all foods but that's not the case.
