He chooses to play Ostapchuk, Reaves, and Goodrow instead of Gaudette. I’d think those would be the guys taking away Gaudette’s opportunities…not the elite & generational top 10 draft picks. But that’s just me.

The other thing kind of revealing is Warso talks about Sherwood’s effort in practice and his attention to detail in team meetings. Clearly things that Warso values (maybe too much sometimes) when making lineups.

Another way to phrase it: Wennberg is the benchmark. He’s been a leader, performed well in his role, and he’s a center. Sherwood isn’t getting paid more than Wennberg’s $18M or getting more term.

Wild speculation: Grier makes an offer this week similar to Wennberg’s (3yrs @ $5.5M-ish) He’d be solidifying the bottom 6 in the near term with veteran leaders while the younger skilled guys fill in the top 6. We’ll see if Sherwood is still holding out for $30M 😬
